Nanna loves Delicious and Easy to make Butterscotch Cookies

Who doesn’t like Butterscotch in their cookies?  Nanna likes to make these easy to make butterscotch cookies.  They take just minutes, but the dough does need to be chilled for about an hour.

What you need to make Rolled Butterscotch Cookies like Nanna does it:

These ingredients will make 5 to 6 dozen butterscotch cookies depending on the size of cookies that you make.

A cookie sheet

Cookie cutters

3 cups of All Purpose Flour (Nanna prefers Five Roses)

3/4 Cup of butter

1 1/2 Cups of brown sugar

1/2 Teaspoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 Teaspoon of salt

2 Eggs  slightly beaten

1/4 Cup of chocolate chips

1 Teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

Optional – butter icing and colored sprinkles

How to make Rolled Butterscotch Cookies like Nanna does it:

In a large bowl –

1. Pour the All-purpose Flour into a large bowl, add and stir in the baking powder, soda, and salt

Beat as you –

2. Cream the butter

3. Add the brown sugar slowly

4. Add the eggs and beat and mix well and add the chocolate chips and continue to mix well 

6 Add the Vanilla extract

7. Preheat oven to 375 F

8. Wrap the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour

9. Remove from the fridge, roll out to 1/8“ on a lightly floured board

10. Cut with your Cookie cutters, and spread onto a greased cookie sheet (you can also roll into balls then flatten with a floured spoon, after placing on the cookie sheet)

11. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes (check after 8)

Optional – Decorate, ice the cookies with butter icing and sprinkles
